The Covid Hotspots in the North East.
THE latest Covid-19 hotspots in the North-East and North Yorkshire have been revealed almost 16,000 cases were added across England following a technical glitch.
Earlier this week, The Northern Echo reported on the number of cases by each postcode area across the region. It showed what areas had seen the biggest rise in Covid-19 cases. But updated data has revealed the true scale of how the region has been affected in the past week.
Latest Public Health England data from between September 26 and October 2 has shown at least a dozen areas have seen a huge rise in cases.
Durham City has seen a rise to 88, with St Helen Auckland and West Auckland seeing 40 cases in the past week.
