Wrong Turn Sees Car Block Metro Track
Metro services were disrupted last night when an elderly driver ended up on the track after taking a wrong turn at a level crossing at Kingston Park.
Services were suspended for about 40 minutes between Airport and Regent Centre following the incident at 20:45.
A spokeswoman for Nexus said the woman was helped from her car by police. She was shaken but otherwise not hurt.
Engineers then removed the vehicle from the track.
The Metro level crossings operate a traffic light system rather than barriers.
