Hays Travel Appealing for New Franchise Owners.
Sunderland-based travel firm Hays Travel is appealing for new franchise owners from across the UK who want to own their own profitable branch.
Hays Travel’s retail director Jane Schumm, says they are looking for “ambitious, motivated people who are passionate about travel and having their own successful business”. Jane, who has decades of experience in travel retail, will personally support franchisees, helping them optimise sales and profit and linking them to the vast resources of the 600-strong head office team.
“The time is right now for small businesses to think about how to increase their profitability and be ready for the bounce-back from the pandemic and know they will be supported with all the regulatory requirements in this sector,” said Jane.
“We’ve seen our franchise work successfully already and we know it is a viable option that brings all the benefits of being part of the Hays Travel family while retaining independence.”
Don said: “As a Hays Travel franchise, we enjoy the support of all the Hays Travel departments, from IT, HR, payroll, and finance, to marketing and social media as well as state-of-the-art technology and efficient back office functions.
“Another huge advantage is the access to top commercial teams who have considerable buying power to negotiate excellent commission rates, staff incentives and educational trips. This is something we could never achieve without the scale and reputation of Hays Travel behind us.”
In 2019, three former Thomas Cook branch managers, all with extensive travel industry experience, decided to open their franchise in Middleton, Rochdale.
Nicola McGaughey said: “From the minute we met Jane and heard about the Hays Travel franchise we just knew this was what we wanted to do and we formed our own company.
“Now into our second year we have never looked back and the support we have had on leases, technology, people support and maximising our business opportunity has been amazing.”
As an independent travel agent, Hays Travel has access to thousands of different holidays for its customers as well as its own tour operation, bed bank, and transfer operation.
A franchisee is given help from the start, including assistance in securing premises, trading intelligence, weekly meetings, and ongoing advice and practical assistance on all aspects of running a Hays Travel shop.
They receive a host of benefits, from the use of the Hays Travel trading name, technology, support services such as payroll, IT and management accounts, to access to day-to-day help with HR and customer service.
Importantly the franchise benefits from the extensive Hays Travel sales and marketing activity and preferential commercial deals, along with ongoing business development support.
